Medical research
is made possible
with the involvement of volunteers, like you!
Predominantly, we require healthy males between the ages of 18-55 to participate in out trials.
However, this is not always the case as each study has its own criteria, on the basis of which,
suitability to participate is determined. There will usually be a visit to Chiltern (Early Phase) prior to the study,
at which a physical examination, blood and urine tests are usually performed. Only after this medical,
can suitability for a study be confirmed.
Usually during a study, medication(s) is/are administered and assessments including blood pressure
and the taking of blood samples occur. Each study is different however and therefore, exactly what
happens in each study is different.
Volunteering at Chiltern (Early Phase) usually involves a residential stay in out unit, and may also involve some-out
patients visits. Residential stays can vary from one night to three weeks, in which, volunteers
are closely monitored by our highly qualified and experienced clinical staff.
As a volunteer, we reimburse you for all your travel expenses and if selected, your time and inconvenience,
upon completion of a study. |
